It lets you customize the color of the folders, so it can be very useful for the user.

Yes
If it is open source, please provide a link to the most up to date, versioned source tarball/zipfile. master.zip links will not be accepted.
Releases are managed by commits, no recent tags exist.
Who and how many users do you anticipate will use this software?
All the users of Solus using Nemo can be interested by this feature.
