Consider enabling more acceleration and ambient light sensors in kernel for iio-sensor-proxy
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

We have iio-sensor-proxy in the repo, it is supported by both Gnome and KDE out of the box, but most of the sensors are not enabled in the kernel config, like mxc4005 in my laptop.
Could more of them be enabled, maybe all of them? If not all maybe we could look at other distros on what sensors they enable?

@Jacek : Could you please test that the above commits do what you expect and close if appropriate? TIA =)

Accelerometer now works on my machine, thanks!
Maybe next time you could also consider enabling all accelerometers, not just mine, like you enabled all light sensors?

@joebonrichie / @ReillyBrogan ?

Fixed in R3571:c32cd293ee7873125cb76ab9ddf803712c7acac0 (not in R1966 yet).

@ReillyBrogan : Are you planning on enabling this in LTS? Your call whether to do so and when to close this issue IMHO.
