We primarily upgraded to wpa_supplicant 2.10 to resolve CVE issues however, we had various reports of non functional wifi since users have upgraded to 2.10. Particularly for broadcom-wl based drivers and wpa2/wpa3 networks. 2.10 seems like quite a bad release, my guess is due to the various openssl 3.0 work.

Therefore we should downgrade wpa_supplicant to 2.9 and backport the CVEs that were fixed in 2.10.
