At the moment, I had to roll back to the second version of the package.

that's weird, it should be still supported...

have you tried to reset it up with brsconfig4?

I'm sorry, but how can this be done?

Have you connected it via usb or lan cable?

Failed to connect to the scanner

Everything works on the old version of the kernel.

Does it work if you start the scanning utility as root?

@alexanderzhirov can you test this now if you're on unstable, or after the sync if you're on stable? I'm reasonably sure I fixed this.

Unfortunately, to no avail. The same error - "Failed to connect to the scanner"

Did you reboot after you updated? Sorry, forgot to mention that that step would be required given that the systemd hardware database is queried at startup.

@ReillyBrogan Yes, of course I rebooted. Maybe i need to configure something else? I just updated the brscan4 package.

Also, does it work if you run sudo simple-scan?

If it doesn't work when you run sudo simple-scan then your issue is likely different than the one I fixed.

Hm.. Works with superuser rights.

Will the scan always work through sudo as well?

I put the test 6th version of the kernel - the scanner works without sudo. Strange.

After reinstalling the distribution, it is necessary to make it possible to scan without sudo. Is there any way to add permissions for the user?
