Thanks for the patch on this. However please bare in mind that you need to clone the existing pidgin repo per our Updating an existing package documentation. Essentially, you need to clone the repo and then update the source tarball per the command in the doc. After that, any supplemental changes can be applied to the package.yml to ensure a functional build.
