If your GPU supports VP9 decoding (check via the support matrix here) can you install and run vdpauinfo and see if vp9 is supported?

libvdpau has already been updated with support for VP9, see R1889:ce324ed84ad1.

My GPU should support VP9 decoding (well, it damn well better seeing as it's a 1070Ti) so I'll test this once I land it.
