It's almost as if we had it disabled to begin with for a reason ?

Yeah expect that at the beginning it was disabled because it used to crash with the nouveau driver which doesn't seem to be a problem anymore. Now it is because it causes issues with suspend at least with the nvidia driver on Plasma.
