Details

Summary

What's new in this release:

  • OpenGL core contexts enabled by default in Direct 3D.
  • Beginnings of Direct 3D 12 implementation using vkd3d.
  • More support for the Task Scheduler.
  • Some more Task Dialog support.
  • Better arrow support in GdiPlus.
  • Various bug fixes.

Depends on D3014

Test Plan

Installed & started Battle.net.

NOTE: I have no clue why libltdl.so.7 and libpulsecommon-11.1.so disappeared from the abi_used_libs !?

Event Timeline

The current version was tested mainly with demo applications. A number of features that are being worked on have been deferred to the next development cycle.

Re. vkd3d, seeing as this is the initial release and it's mostly untested against real-world applications, maybe we should told off actually getting this added until it's more polished and the features they mention in their blog post are implemented and thus this is actually useful?

Doesn't matter because it only pertains to a handful D3D12 games that don't run anyway. They only got some demos to run so far.

Except it does matter. I'm not going to have us arbitrary enabling functionality that isn't ready yet.

Yeah, well it doesn't matter in a sense that whether you enable it or not it's not going to change anything for D3D12 titles. They'll crash either way.
