We have worse packages that this, but yeah it's a hog :-)

A not-insignificant amount of time is spent in the linking phase. Have you considered experimenting with mold to see if that part can be sped up?

Huh mold isn't even in the repos yet ๐Ÿ‘€. Might be an interesting addition (especially if it can be integrated with solbuild)

mold is current (sort of) blocked by intel-tbb (T10092). I worked around this by statically linking against the provided intel-tbb in the mold source tree.

I've been using mold with my solbuild for the past few weeks and it has been working well :)
